Please celebrate the sporting achievements of the city’s athletes, coaches, administrators and volunteers during 2023 by nominating for a Leeds Sports Award.
We now have 3 categories, each focussing on a different aspect of Sport:
- ATHLETES of the City
- BEACONS of the City
- CHAMPIONS of the City

All nominations will be reviewed by an independent judging panel representing sport across Leeds.

The Leeds Sports Awards judging panel comprises of independent bodies. The judges’ decision as to the winner and/or highly commended is final for the awards within the categories of Young Achievers and Special Contribution. For the Senior Achievers category in the case of a draw the judges’ decision is final.
How does the voting system work?
This year the Senior Achiever’s Category will be adhering to a new scoring method, using a point-based system.
The public’s votes will be totalled (per individual). The individuals will then be given point scores, according to their number of votes. The number of points available will be relative to the number of people in that category. For example, the individual with the most public votes out of a total of 6 people would score 6 points. The same would happen for the judges’ votes, and then both point scores would be added together to form a total point score. The individual with the highest total point score will then win that award.
After the voting closes to the public and at the time of the judges decision, the judges will not be aware of the public vote.
In the case of a tie, the individual with the majority judges’ decision will win.
Only one vote will be counted from one email address per award.

Once you submit your details, you will not be able to vote again for your Senior Achiever.
